Diagnosis

How is Hypothyroidism diagnosed?

A simple blood test carried out by your GP is the easiest way to diagnose Hypothyroidism.

Usually this blood test will measure either or both of the Thryoid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and Thyroxine (T4).

By reading the results of your blood test your GP will be able to tell if you have Hypothyroidism, how severe it is and how to treat it.
